Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to review sponsorship applications, take payment, and deliver what sponsors pay for. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find the site. We never sell your information.
Who we are
The Shamrock Club connects local businesses with high school programs through sponsorships. This policy covers jointheshamrockclub.com, including our application and payment pages.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you apply to sponsor or ask us to get in touch, we collect:
- your name, role, email address and phone number
- your business name, category, city and website
- your business license number or EIN, if you choose to provide it (please never send a Social Security number)
- your logo, if you upload one
- the school you'd like to support, how you heard about us and who referred you, your preferred contact time, and any notes you add
Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us. We receive a record of the payment: amount, date, billing name and address, and whether it was yearly or monthly.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we collect:
- Analytics data through Google Analytics: pages viewed, how you arrived, your general location (city level), and your device and browser type.
- Link tracking tags. If you arrive through a tagged link (for example from Instagram or a partner such as Oxnard USA), your browser remembers that tag for up to 90 days. If you then apply, the tag is saved with your application so we can credit the right referral partner.
How we use it
- To review and verify your application, including confirming your business is licensed and suitable for a high school audience
- To process payments and send receipts
- To deliver your sponsorship benefits: banners, plaques, social posts, website listings and media features
- To email you about your application and sponsorship
- To credit and pay referral partners, such as Oxnard USA, when they introduce a sponsor
- To understand which outreach works and improve the site
What becomes public
Sponsorship is public recognition, so once you are an active sponsor and have approved your listing, your business name, logo and website link appear on our sponsor directory. They also appear on the recognition materials your tier includes, such as banners, social posts and media features. Your personal contact details, license or EIN, and payment information are never published.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or share it for advertising. We share it only with:
- The schools and programs you sponsor, to arrange your recognition
- Referral partners, such as Oxnard USA, limited to the fact that you became a sponsor through them, so their referral can be credited
- Service providers that run our systems for us (below), who may only use it to provide their service
- Authorities, if the law requires it
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the website and receives form submissions |
| Airtable | Stores applications and sponsor records |
| Stripe | Processes payments |
| Resend | Sends our emails |
| Google Analytics, website fonts, and the YouTube video on our homepage |
Cookies and similar tools
Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. The YouTube video on our homepage may also set cookies when it loads or plays. Our link tracking tags are stored in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie. You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. The site works fully without them.
How long we keep it
We keep sponsor records for as long as you sponsor with us, then for as long as we need them for renewals and for tax and accounting requirements. Applications that don't go ahead are deleted within two years. Google Analytics data is kept according to our Analytics retention setting.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to take down your sponsor listing at any time. We won't treat you differently for asking. California residents have these rights under state privacy law. To make a request, reply to any email from us or send us a message using the contact form on our homepage. We'll respond within 45 days.
Security
Your information is stored with the providers listed above and sent over encrypted connections. Access within our team is limited to the people who need it to review applications and deliver sponsorships.
Children
This website is for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use sponsor information, we'll also email active sponsors.
